The Luncheon on the Grass by Edouard Manet

A controversial realist painting is fourth famous painting, The Luncheon on the Grass by French painter Edouard Manet (1832 – 1883). It shows a nude woman lunching with two fully dressed men. They are in a conversation, ignoring the woman who stares directly at the viewer. The public was shocked when Manet exhibited it in 1863.
